SARAH COLLINS....WHAT AMERICAN MUSIC NEEDS NOW!!!

I am very excited about the future for this outstanding young artist, Sarah Collins. As you know, I have featured many of her songs here over the last few days. The reason I have done this? Sarah personifies EXACTLY what music needs here in America. We need to make the old new again!!! Music today pales in comparison to our beloved old school R&B. Period!!!!!!!

She is a fabulous new talent from over the pond in England…and somehow that makes sense to me. Think of it…so many of our great old school groups resurrected their careers in the UK. That list includes The Stylistics, Gene Pitney and The Three Degrees, among many others. It would seem that the English have a much better grasp on great music than do we. They have never stopped loving their old school....ever since Dusty introduced them to Motown all those years ago...

In fact, Tom Moulton now spins his magic in England!!! Tom is famed here for his work with extended Philly Soul mixes and introducing the 12” Disco Single during the late 70’s. In fact, Tom is known as “The Father of the Disco Mix” here in the US due to his work with that. Tom and I met here on Great Music...had a nice conversation...and share much in common. I have made him aware of Sarah. For her sake, I hope he is as impressed as am I by this fantastic talent ~ !!!!

Then you have the Northern Soul movement. Based on the wonderful old school R&B that once ruled here in the US, it is still going strong in England. Sarah Collins is a firm favorite on today's Northern Soul scene with many appearances at UK and European festivals and events. Her band is called “Keep The Faith - Northern Soul Band Featuring Sarah Collins”

As you all know, I have forever been advocating a Retro Movement to bring back the great classics of the old school. And then I find Sarah Collins!!! With a sexy, passionate and breathy voice, she reminds me so much of Dusty and Lulu!!!! This lady is going places…and if I can help to be a part of that in the USA? I would be honored!!!! The best new talent I have found…and a prime example of exactly what American Music needs NOW!!!!!
